This foundation work was developed by John O’Brien and Connie Lyle O’Brien many years ago – and remains a powerful and essential foundation for our work. All citizens have better life chances, and everyone’s world grows more interesting, when communities offer rich opportunities for people to have these five valued experiences.
Discovering these themes inspired the creation of resources to guide the development of person-centered direct support. They can be used for staff development, conference handouts, staff appreciation, or retreats.
