In 2021, Jack Pearpoint and Lynda Kahn shared their experiences and insights in a webinar for the Nebraska Person Centered Planning Initiative. They spoke from the heart about how Circles of Support began, drawing on the powerful story of Judith Snow. Through stories and video clips from MAPS and PATH, they reminded us that the real work is grounded in the Five Valued Experiences. These are not just ideas, but values that shape how we live and support one another. At the end, they left us with Judith Snow’s challenge: to find the courage to reach out and make a friend of someone who is different from ourselves. This is not easy work, but it is essential, and every small step matters.
