Tending Our Inner Soul with Compassionate Action

At LifeWorks, the staff and those they support are coached and trained in approaches to nurture their souls and bodies. Yoga for everybody; meditation for everybody. Binds and bodies are gently stretched – so we can all have fuller lives and contribute to our communities. Krik Hinkleaman has become a masterful meditation instructor In this video see what it means to people’s lives and work.

In his work with the Presencing Institute and Theory U, Otto Scharmer uses a quote from Bill O’Brien, former CEO of Hanover Solutions: “The success of an intervention is entirely dependent on the interior condition of the intervener.” This quote, coupled with our lived experience as practitioners of person-centered practices believe the health and wellbeing of all partners of our organization, at any level, with any role or label, beings with inner work. We bend the beam of observation back on ourselves as individuals and as an organization. The work of Inclusion is Social Justice. It is Love. We understand the weight of this type of work and the effect it has on those called to engage in it as a way of life. This film illuminates the blind spot of burnout as agents of change, offers practices to help with resilience and invites you to get your hands dirty in the soil of your own heart. The first love given is to oneself; self-compassion. Only then can we share love and compassion with others.
